Biography
My name is Roger D. Allen, and I would like to tell you about myself and my law practice. My home and family have been on the south side of Fort Worth and Arlington, Texas for as long as I can remember. I graduated from Arlington High School in 1972, and within three years earned a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting with high honors from the University of Texas at Arlington. After three years of law school at Texas Tech, I returned to Arlington and started my law practice on West Abram Street.

In 1984, Congress amended the Social Security law in response to government policy harshly impacting individuals with both physical and mental disabilities. At the time, I had represented a small number of clients in Social Security disability matters, including one client who had lost monthly benefits with little warning because he had not been able to properly explain the nature of his mental disability when his benefits were reviewed.
 
In 1987, I attended the fall conference of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives in San Francisco and began advertising and writing to lawyers and doctors about social security law. Within five years, my practice became devoted exclusively to Social Security and Supplemental Security Disability matters. I have represented more than 3000 individuals in disability matters before the Social Security Administration or the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
 
Over the years I have taught social security law to lawyers, judges, law students and vocational rehabilitation counselors at legal aide training seminars, bar association meetings, government agency offices and the Texas Wesleyan University Law School.
 
My staff consists of two legal assistants and an office manager. They keep me organized and ensure that I am able to personally consult with each client throughout the process of preparing a claim for presentation to the Social Security Administration.

Aside from my law practice, I have served as an officer and board member on community, church and youth organizations. I enjoy spending time with Tamara, my young bride, for whom I am "still crazy after all these years."1
